It's Great!

Things are finally really great here I am really looking forward to the next 4 months to grow and learn as the internship comes to it's end. I think it helps being able to see the end coming closer but i am also in a division that i think fits me better with an amazing division leader that i am gaining lots of knowledge form. She has been at Willow for something around 14 years and has lots of knowledge and wisdom to give. So i am just considering my self blessed to be able to work with her.

Christmas was great! I had so much fun with David and my family. It was just great to see them and spend quality time with them. Boy do I miss them. It is going to be so good when I get back and can see them all the time. I took them so for granted before. They are dimonds in the rough let me tell you. You dont get amaizing people like that in you life very often. I just had the best time just being in there presents and talking with them. We played games and talked and laughed. It was perfect. I wouldnt have traded it for the world. I love you guys!

The weather here is not so great it is about in the teens and lower at times. Very cold!!! I think though that i have been handling it pretty well. But it is just not fun to be outside a lot, or even in and out of your car. Cars don't heat up vary fast when it is this cold.

I am excited to come home again at the end of Feb. I will be home for a week. The 17th-24th. I am very much looking forward to seeing David and my family. I am also looking forward to seeing all of you!

Well that is what is new with me. I am doing great!

Love you all!

its fall!!!

Hi friends! SORRY that it has been so long sense i have updated my blog. i have no excuse i have just been neglecting it. and im sorry. i have to say i miss you all soooooooo much! there are days that i wish i could just pack up my bags and come home and in my head i do. but in reality i dont i push through. i got to tell you it is getting chilly out here. the leaves are changing color. there is some real beauty in the nature of the the fall. its the the greatest for my allergies but it sure is beautiful. i have had some fun having some visitors. first David was here and we got to explore the city and get lost together it was fun. we also saw all of navy pier and did a super fun double decker tour of the city. that was probably my favorite. we got the coolest guide. he told us all about the city and sang a little too. it was fun. after David the girls came for the life groups conference. boy did they lift my spirits. just hanging out and having some girl time and community that really loves and cares for me around me really helped. thanks girls. next my parents came. we had fun too. we saw wicked and went to the top of Sears tower and just hung out as a family. i miss both David and my parents so much. then Nat came and we just walked around and did some window shopping and went to a contemporary art museum and just had fun laughing together. i have a brake for visitors for a while until thanksgiving when David comes back. i cant wait to see him.
ministry has been good i am still in the infants and toddlers for now. i have been doing a lot more of the division role than the program side of things like i was before. because i am much more of a people person than a computer person. so i have more fun calling people then sitting on the computer rewriting curriculum by myself. boring! the more i learn the more i am affirmed that we are doing things really good. i am all the more proud of our church and our team and volunteers. i love IHC!!! thanks for being so great! i love and miss you all!

first week of work

wow, lots of meetings and lots of trying to keep busy. I'm still in the faze where i don't exactly know what i am suppose to be doing so i am doing a lot of nothing. right now i am working on reconstructing the toddler curriculum which is an interesting endeavor because i am doing it pretty much by my self. i mean they are hear to guide me when i have questions and help me with the computer stuff but as far as ideas and what i want to do with it i pretty much have free rain. within reason of coarse. they are toddlers. i mean i think i know toddlers pretty well but that is crazy that they are just giving this to me. and then on the weekends they want me to see how it is played out and give the large group teacher feed back on how they did or how they can improve. i am also to watch the other toddler rooms to see if they are using the curriculum in the room and if not, how to implement that. hmmm, where have i done that before. did i come here to learn from them or to teach them? only God knows.

intern retreat

after the summit we went on a 3 day intern retreat with all of the new interns. it was a great way to get to know each other better. we had some one on one time with each other with questions like "what is something you are afraid of about being here?" it was an eye opening experience to know that they have fears too. we also did some spiritual practices. we did some solitude and silence time with God, that i must say was amazing. we also did a reflection practice. that is where you take time to look back on your day and see where you have seen God or where you aloud him to be close and where you don't see God or where you might have not wanted him there. it was a great exercises that i am trying to do everyday. it was a good couple of days that helped up bond. so i now finally have some friends. yeah!

summit

hey guys, sorry its been a while. the summit was great there was some amazing speakers and some even more amazing musicians. i would have to say the thing that i remember most about the summit is what happened at the very end before Bill Hybles got up and did his closing talk. it was on inspiration and man was it inspiring. they had a video of a boy that was born with no eyes and a serious joint deformity. as he grew they soon found that he had an extremely good ear for music they could play something on the piano and he would play the exact same thing back to them. it was amazing. he then came out on sage and played for us. i mean if this kid can overcome all of his difficulties than we can do anything.

road trip!

Wow! This has been one fun and crazy trip. We have had some adventures (getting of on the wrong off ramps, mom) and some beautiful sights and lots of laughs. Man has it been fun. There has been those sad moments of missing home but I'm doing pretty good. God is good! We have seen some crazy things like an overturned big rig and some gigantic moose on the back of a big rig diving down the high way. good thing they weren't real. and wow there are some crazy drivers. i will have pictures once i get a cord to hook up my camera to my computer. i love you all and thanks for all of the prayer and support.
